Specimens were impacted once each, alternating on the decorative glass side and the opposite side as noted in the table below. Each specimen was struck once within ½ inch of center, with a 100 pound shot bag constructed in accordance with the standard, swinging in a pendulum arc, from a 48" drop height . If an opening developed, a 3" diamater sphere must not pass through with a force less than 4 pounds. Evaluation Criteria : No opening may develop through which a 3 inch sphere can pass with a force of 4 pounds or less. If fragments are detached, they shall in total way no more than a mass equivalent of 15.5 square inches of the original test specimen. The single largest fragments shall weigh less than a mass equivalent to 6.82 square inches of the original. Detached individual particles less than the mass equivalent of 1 square inch shall be excluded. Nathan W.
